Quality Assurance Coordinator

JOB SUMMARY

The incumbent assists in the provision of a quality assurance system at both the public and private ECCE level. Additionally the Quality Assurance Coordinator will be required to coordinate Early Childhood Care and Education programmes in compliance with specified national standards as outlined in The National Standards Governing ECCE practice document.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervises and directs public and private ECCE Centre personnel on standards required for providing ECCE services.
  • Develops methods to regulate ECCE policies, procedures and programmes related to quality management.
  • Develops monitoring, compliance reviews and/or quality assurance techniques for measuring the quality of service delivery to ensure maximum efficiency.
  • Develops and protocols and procedures to resolve emergency problems and crisis situations
  • Identifies improvements and adjustments needed to facilitate programme effectiveness to meet the required ECCE National Standards.
  • Provides advice and support to management or other stakeholder groups on issues related to quality assurance and quality control.
  • Regularly monitors and reviews information from materials, events, or the environment to diagnose ECCE problems.
  • Serves on various committees to promote Early Childhood Care and Education.
  • Assists in the processing of applications for the establishment of ECCE Centres.
  • Provides recommendations for registration of ECCE Centres.
  • Conducts relevant workshops and special conferences.
  • Receives and collate reports on a quarterly basis on the progress of activities.
  • Performs all other related work as may be required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Considerable Knowledge of the National Standards for Regulating Early Childhood Services Document.
  • Considerable Knowledge of continuing trends in ECCE.
  • Sound Knowledge of quality management and control
  • Sound knowledge of standards and principles of conducting inspections
  • Sound knowledge of OHS policies and procedures
  • Ability to conduct seminars/workshops.
  • Ability to evaluate and promote Early Childhood Care and Education
  • Ability to plan programmes for monitoring and assessing quality standards
  • Record Keeping and Organizational skills
  • Ability to exercise sound judgement and objectivity

 QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Master’s Degree
  • Certificate in Education-ECCE
  • Four (4) to six (6) years’ experience in the field of ECCE at an administrative level

                                         OR

  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
