JOB SUMMARY:
To assist in the delivery of efficiently co-ordinated Early Childhood Care and Education programmes as may be needed for Early Childhood Care and Education and ensures compliance with specified national standards
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensures compliance with licensing and accreditation standards.
- Assists in the development of techniques for measuring the quality of service delivery to ensure maximum efficiency.
- Supervises and directs ECCE Centre personnel on the standards required for providing ECCE services.
- Intervenes as an advocate for ECCE practitioners at ECCE Centres to resolve emergency problems and crisis situations.
- Identifies improvements and adjustments needed to ensure programme effectiveness and efficiency in keeping with national standards.
- Provides consultation and expert advice to management or other stakeholder groups on issues related to standards or other systems related, or process related topics.
- Serves on various committees to promote standards in ECCE.
- Assists in the processing of applications for the establishment of ECCE Centres.
- Makes recommendations for registration of ECCE Centres.
- Attends relevant workshops and special conferences.
- Prepares reports on a quarterly basis on the progress of activities.
- Performs all other related work as may be required.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s Degree in one of the Social Sciences
- Knowledge of the Standards Document
- Knowledge of Contemporary Trends in Early Childhood
- Computer Literacy Certificate
OR
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training
