District ECCE Quality Assurance Officer

JOB SUMMARY:

To assist in the delivery of efficiently co-ordinated Early Childhood Care and Education programmes as may be needed for Early Childhood Care and Education and ensures compliance with specified national standards

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Ensures compliance with licensing and accreditation standards.
  • Assists in the development of techniques for measuring the quality of service delivery to ensure maximum efficiency.
  • Supervises and directs ECCE Centre personnel on the standards required for providing ECCE services.
  • Intervenes as an advocate for ECCE practitioners at ECCE Centres to resolve emergency problems and crisis situations.
  • Identifies improvements and adjustments needed to ensure programme effectiveness and efficiency in keeping with national standards.
  • Provides consultation and expert advice to management or other stakeholder groups on issues related to standards or other systems related, or process related topics.
  • Serves on various committees to promote standards in ECCE.
  • Assists in the processing of applications for the establishment of ECCE Centres.
  • Makes recommendations for registration of ECCE Centres.
  • Attends relevant workshops and special conferences.
  • Prepares reports on a quarterly basis on the progress of activities.
  • Performs all other related work as may be required.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree in one of the Social Sciences
  • Knowledge of the Standards Document
  • Knowledge of Contemporary Trends in Early Childhood
  • Computer Literacy Certificate

                           OR

  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training
